What's up everybody!? We wrapped up 2022 with a fly fishing lesson, a booking for a January Musky Trip and FINALLY getting to (new to us) Mercury 2-stroke Jet strapped on the Tower. (These were all big wins)
Moving forward, we have added a separate booking for fly fishing lessons. I feel like this will better direct expectation(s) for the outing. That being said, the first booking of 2022 and first lesson went well. We went over fundamentals and got to casting. By the end of the lesson we had gone over a couple casting and retrieving techniques with a variety of flies and left feeling good about the progression throughout the day. We even saw a musky in the 35-40" range who was not interested in anything we presented.
The first booking and musky trip of 2023 turned out to be a beautiful day on the river. We dropped in and the clients accustomed themselves to the bait casters and started logging casts towards 10000. I don't believe we hit 10000 casts (even combined) and we didn't see any action but that's how musky fishing goes, we did spy one motoring back to the launch though. They are THE APEX predator in the river and don't get big by being dumb. We even busted out the fly gear towards the end of the day to change things up. Looking forward to more trips like this in the future!
Lastly, if you guys see me out on the river... make sure you say what's up. Looking forward to interacting with y'all and hopefully taking you out for a trip.
